Picture this...

You and a group of friends with a similar interest are gathered for a few days at a charming country inn. You've found a picture-perfect serene and peaceful setting at a lodge converted from a dairy barn built in 1857.  Tucked away on a quiet road in a small New England town, the property has acres of lawn gracefully leading to a gorgeous lake.  Occasionally a hiker is seen near the water on the world-famous Appalachian Trail walking from Georgia to Maine right outside your balcony room. 

You join your friends for a nutritious healthy-start country breakfast in the rustic dining room and then carve out a spot to chat, visit, share stories and work on your craft.  It's a little hard to decide where you'll spend your morning:  there's a charming room with an enormous fieldstone fireplace with views of the lake, but on this day you choose the sun-filled great room with high ceiling, gleaming wood floor, and post-and-rail beams.

When you take a minute to glance out the window, a few of many non-human residents wander by -- first a Shetland pony accompanied by a few sheep and the cutest little goat with black socks and matching ears.  Later (are you seeing things? dreaming?) the most unusual resident of the place wanders by - a pot-bellied pig - and she is smiling (you must be dreaming!)
